Jaipur, May 20, 2023 (PPI-OT):Notorious for her anti-Muslim rhetoric, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Sadhvi Prachi has once against spewed venom against Muslims to entice violence against the minority community in India. The VHP leader delivered the hate speech during the screening of the Islamophobic movie ‘The Kerala Story’ organised by the Hindutva outfit Hindu Yuva Vahini in Jaipur city of the Indian state of Rajasthan. Addressing moviegoers inside a theater, Prachi made hateful remarks about the Muslim community claiming that processions of Hindu festival Ram Navami were being attacked when these people (Muslims) make up 30% of the total population in India. “If their population goes above 40%, it will be difficult for our girls to step out of home. This is what Kerala files (The Kerala Story) is all about,” she said.
She also tried to spread fear by dragging the issue of Kashmir into it. She claimed that Hindus were expelled from the Valley because of their very low population there. A First Information Report (FIR) has been lodged against Prachi after a video of her inflammatory remarks surfaced on social media. The video of her speech was posted on social media by Hindutva Watch, the Twitter handle which tracks hate speeches. As her video surfaced, several social media users tagged Rajasthan police demanding the registration of an FIR against her.
Tagging Rajasthan chief minister and state police, M.M. Dhera, an advocate practicing in Rajasthan High Court, said that if the government doesn’t file an FIR against Prachi, he will move the court. “As per the Supreme Court order, if the high court does not take suo moto cognisance of the matter of hate speeches, it will be a violation of the court order,” he said. On Wednesday, Prachi was booked for delivering a provocative speech. Jaipur Police Commissioner (North) Rashi Dogra Dudi said, “We have booked Sadhvi Prachi and two others over their comments which are likely to disturb communal harmony. The coordinator of the event and other office-bearers who organised the programme will also be questioned.”
However, the FIR against her has not deterred her. Yet another of her video has surfaced wherein she made inflammatory remarks against the Muslims while talking to some YouTube channel. In her latest speech, she called for a ban on madrassas saying Muslims are trained to “love jihad” in madrassas and mosques. Love jihad is a term used by the Hindutva organizations for the women who marry Muslims after embracing Islam. She also claimed that weapons have been found in mosques.
