Kyiv: A Russian drone attack on the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv has left three individuals injured and ignited extensive fires in several warehouses, according to local authorities. The assault saw Ukrainian air defenses in action, with tracer rounds visibly lighting up the night sky as they targeted incoming drones.

The Kyiv city administration reported that three warehouses were set ablaze in the attack, which occurred amid a broader offensive involving multiple regions across Ukraine. The city’s skyline was marked by orange hues from the fires, blending with smoke plumes that drifted above the capital.

Ukraine’s air force confirmed that its defense systems successfully intercepted 56 out of the 88 drones launched by Russia in an overnight assault. In a statement, the air force noted that 24 drones were “lost” after the military employed electronic warfare tactics to redirect them away from their intended targets.

The impact of the drone strikes was not confined to Kyiv alone, as damage was reported in five regions across the central, eastern, and southern parts of Ukraine. The overnight attack underscores the ongoing tensions and the persistent threat posed by drone warfare in the region.
