Karachi, Caretaker Minister for Information Technology, Dr. Umar Saif, has emphasized the critical role of innovative measures in the IT sector as a catalyst for stabilizing Pakistan’s economy.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Dr. Saif, while addressing an IT seminar, highlighted the concerted efforts being made under the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) for the country’s development. He noted that the SIFC has successfully unified civil and military leadership along with key stakeholders, fostering a collaborative environment for progress.
Further, the Minister announced that the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) plans to establish Special Technology Zones in the North and South districts of Karachi within the next two years. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to harness the potential of the IT sector as a means to boost the national economy.
Dr. Saif’s remarks underscore the growing recognition of the IT sector’s role in economic development and the government’s commitment to leveraging technology for national prosperity.
