Lahore: Veteran comedian and stage actor Javed Kodu, who entertained audiences in Pakistan for over four decades, has passed away after a prolonged illness. Kodu was a prominent figure in Pakistan’s entertainment industry, known for his comic brilliance and enduring appeal.
Javed Kodu began his illustrious career in 1981 with the stage play ‘Sauday Baaz’ and went on to feature in over 150 productions, spanning Punjabi and Urdu films, stage dramas, and television shows. His impeccable comic timing was a defining characteristic of his performances.
Among his notable works, the television drama ‘Aashiyana’ is particularly cherished by audiences. Kodu’s contributions to both stage and screen brought joy to countless fans, and his passing marks the end of an era in Pakistani comedy.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif expressed his condolences, praying for the departed soul’s high ranks in Jannah and for strength for the bereaved family to endure their loss.
