Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has called for a coordinated regional strategy to combat terrorism following the killing of eight Pakistani nationals in Iran’s Sistan province. The Prime Minister expressed his deep grief over the incident, labeling terrorism as a significant threat to regional stability.

In his statement, Sharif urged the Iranian government to swiftly apprehend and punish those responsible for the killings in Mehrestan. He emphasized the need for transparency by calling for public disclosure of the motives behind the attack.

Sharif also instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to ensure communication with the families of the deceased and to coordinate with Pakistan’s embassy in Iran for the repatriation of the bodies.

The Iranian Embassy in Islamabad condemned the attack, pledging full cooperation in the investigation and reaffirming its commitment to the safety of foreign nationals in Iran.
