Quetta Election Tribunal Orders Repolling Following Rigging Allegations

Quetta: Justice Abdullah Baloch of the Balochistan High Court Election Tribunal has issued an order for repolling at 15 stations in the constituency PB-45 Quetta, following a successful challenge to the election results by Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam candidate Mir Usman Perkani. The decision comes after allegations of electoral rigging against the previously successful candidate, Mir Ali Madad Jatak of the Pakistan People’s Party.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, “The tribunal, after reviewing witness statements and records, nullified the victory of Provincial Minister Ali Madad Jatak, leading to the revocation of his ministerial portfolio. The decision underscores the judiciary’s commitment to upholding electoral integrity.” This ruling is expected to prompt significant political changes in the constituency, reflecting the judiciary’s strict stance on credible electoral processes.
