PVARA Chairman Discusses Virtual Assets Insights with Pakistan’s Finance Minister


Islamabad: Chairman of the Pakistan Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (PVARA), Mr. Bilal Bin Saqib, met with Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, to discuss insights gained from his recent visit to Hong Kong.



According to Press Information Department, Mr. Bilal Bin Saqib’s visit included engagements with key Hong Kong institutions such as the Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau, Hong Kong Monetary Authority, and Securities and Futures Commission. Discussions centered around knowledge-sharing and successful use cases that may benefit Pakistan.



The meeting covered emerging opportunities in virtual assets and digital finance, focusing on blockchain and tokenization technologies. It also addressed international practices in digital assets, stablecoins, compliance frameworks, and digital financial infrastructure.



Mr. Saqib highlighted the relevance of insights from Hong Kong and their potential application to Pakistan’s virtual assets ecosystem. He also discussed digital financial products and areas for institutional cooperation.



Senator Aurangzeb welcomed the briefing, stressing the need for a responsible and transparent digital assets ecosystem in Pakistan. He emphasized innovation supported by appropriate safeguards and appreciated efforts to collaborate with international policymakers to enhance Pakistan’s digital financial landscape.
