Lahore: The Punjab Police have deported 9,576 individuals who were residing illegally across the province, with efforts continuing under the direction of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar. More than 10,136 individuals have been relocated to holding centers, and 560 remain at designated holding points.

In Lahore, five holding centers have been established, with a total of 46 centers across the province. According to the Punjab Police spokesperson, the deportation campaign is conducted in compliance with international laws, similar to practices in other countries.

The federal government and sensitive agencies are actively monitoring the operation. The security measures surrounding the deportations are on high alert to ensure the process is conducted safely.

Dr. Anwar emphasized that human rights are being respected throughout the operation. He has instructed the Chief City Police Officer of Lahore, along with Regional Police Officers and District Police Officers, to accelerate the evacuation process.

The identification of individuals residing illegally is supported by the Special Branch, the Counter Terrorism Department, security agencies, and intelligence-based information.
