Lahore, The Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, met with DSP Muhammad Umar Farooq at the Central Police Office, recognizing his bravery and service. DSP Farooq was seriously injured during a demonstration in Lahore two years ago and has now been awarded the Ghazi Medal for his courage and dedication to duty.
According to Punjab Police, IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar announced that DSP Muhammad Umar Farooq’s name has been inscribed on the Ghazi Wall of Punjab Police. He emphasized that officers and officials injured in the line of duty are vital assets to the department, and their encouragement will continue at all levels. Dr. Anwar also assured that full cooperation will be provided for the health, welfare, and quick rehabilitation of Ghazi police officers and officials.
