LAHORE: Punjab Police officers and personnel were on high alert to ensure security during Shabina gatherings and nafli prayers on the 27th night of Ramadan across the province, including Lahore.

According to Punjab Police, the increased security measures were directed by Inspector General Police Punjab Abdul Kareem. Officers and personnel were instructed to maintain heightened vigilance and perform security duties at mosques and other places of worship. The goal was to provide a peaceful environment for citizens participating in religious activities. Special security arrangements were part of a broader directive to enhance the protection of mosques and places of worship. Police officers and personnel were advised to remain alert and monitor any suspicious activity closely.

Inspector General Kareem also directed supervisory officers to personally oversee security arrangements and provide briefings to deployed personnel. This approach aimed to ensure comprehensive protection for citizens during their prayers. Additionally, teams from the Dolphin Squad, Police Response Unit (PRU), and Elite Force were ordered to conduct effective patrolling around mosques and places of worship. Immediate actions were to be taken in response to any suspicious activities observed in these areas.
