Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced that the government has maintained adequate stocks of petroleum products, attributing this to timely decisions made by the administration. He underscored that the government’s primary focus remains on ensuring economic stability and providing relief to the public.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister chaired a meeting in Islamabad focused on enforcing austerity measures and managing petroleum reserves, considering the evolving regional situation. He emphasized that consultations are ongoing to explore further relief measures in response to the international landscape.

The Prime Minister noted that a committee dedicated to economic stability has played a crucial role in maintaining a steady oil supply for the public. He directed petroleum distribution companies to adhere to government-fixed prices and ensure transparency in their operations.

During the meeting, officials briefed the Prime Minister on the existing oil reserves, petroleum imports to meet demand, and the measures implemented to mitigate the impact of global tensions on the public. The government is actively monitoring petroleum sales to prevent overcharging.

Additionally, a new feature in the Pak App now allows consumers to report any instances of petroleum product shortages or overpricing, with the government promising swift action on such complaints.
