Punjab Police Ensures High Security at Christian Worship Programs Across Province

Lahore: The Punjab Police implemented stringent security measures for Christian worship and prayer programs held in churches across the province, including Lahore, following directives from Inspector General Police Punjab Abdul Kareem.

According to Punjab Police, officers were instructed to remain on high alert, and robust security arrangements were enforced. This heightened vigilance came in response to concerns regarding the situation at the western border. IG Punjab Abdul Kareem had previously issued directives to Regional Police Officers (RPOs) and District Police Officers (DPOs) to bolster security at church facilities. As part of these measures, supervisory officers were tasked with personally inspecting security arrangements at churches and other crucial sites.

Additional police forces, including snipers, were stationed at sensitive church locations. Teams from the Dolphin Squad, Police Response Unit (PRU), and Elite Force conducted regular patrols in the vicinity of churches. The emphasis was on maintaining a high level of alertness among police personnel and closely monitoring any potential threats.

Search and sweep operations were also conducted in areas surrounding churches, Christian neighborhoods, and other sensitive locations. IG Punjab Abdul Kareem emphasized the importance of cooperation from religious scholars, the Christian community, and peace committee members in fostering interfaith harmony.
