Narowal: On the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Director General of the Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Muhammad Saif Anwar Jappa conducted an inspection of the safety bunds at Lehri and Skroor on the Nala Dek in Narowal district. During this visit, detailed briefings on ongoing safety measures and development works were provided by the Exxon Irrigation Flood Dam Division.
According to Punjab Police, DG PDMA Jappa expressed satisfaction with the quality of the work on the project. He instructed the authorities to complete all safety arrangements promptly to address potential flood situations. Jappa emphasized the need to strengthen the safety dam of Nala Dek urgently, utilizing all available resources to protect nearby populations from possible flood risks. He underscored that negligence in implementing safety measures for protecting lives and property would not be tolerated. He also directed relevant departments to remain vigilant in light of the monsoon rains and possible flood scenarios, ensuring necessary arrangements are active at all times. The strengthening of the safety dam is aimed at effectively protecting adjacent villages from potential flood hazards.
