Punjab Chief Minister Addresses Safety Amid Heavy Rains


Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has expressed grief over the loss of lives due to rain-related incidents across the province, urging residents to adhere to safety measures and extending condolences to affected families. She appealed to parents to keep children away from floodwaters and urged inhabitants of unsafe buildings to evacuate to prevent accidents.



According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, the chief minister has instructed local authorities, including deputy and assistant commissioners, to monitor the condition of dilapidated structures and ensure continuous monitoring of rivers and flood channels. She also ordered prompt drainage of rainwater from public thoroughfares to prevent disruptions.



Chief Minister Nawaz emphasized the importance of maintaining traffic flow during the rains and called for all relevant departments to remain vigilant. She acknowledged the efforts of officials working in adverse conditions, praising their dedication and service during the ongoing weather challenges.
