PTI Leaders Absent Despite Formal Invitation to US Congressional Dinner

Islamabad: A spokesperson for the National Assembly has stated that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders were formally invited to a dinner hosted by Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq in honor of a visiting US Congressional delegation. Despite their initial acceptance, the PTI representatives did not attend the event.

The spokesperson detailed that the Principal Secretary to the Speaker, alongside the Special Secretary for International Relations and the Director General of Protocol, extended invitations to PTI leaders Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and Malik Amir Dogar. Both leaders confirmed their attendance.

Despite their confirmations, the PTI members did not appear at the meeting or the subsequent dinner. The spokesperson addressed claims suggesting they were not invited, labeling these assertions as contradictory to the documented facts.

The clarification comes amid speculation surrounding the absence of PTI representatives at the meeting with the US delegation. The National Assembly’s statement seeks to dispel any misunderstandings regarding the invitations extended to PTI leaders.
