Islamabad: Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq addressed the graduating officers at the Foreign Service Academy in Islamabad, emphasizing their role as the future custodians of Pakistan’s image and its true ambassadors on the global stage. He highlighted the critical importance of projecting a positive image of Pakistan, which he described as vital for the country’s progress and stability.

The Speaker underscored the challenges faced by Pakistan, including terrorism and climate change, calling for vigilance and commitment from all sectors, particularly the foreign service. He expressed concern over the regional security situation, noting the threat posed by the misuse of abandoned weaponry from Afghanistan by terrorist groups.

Sardar Ayaz Sadiq stressed the necessity of dialogue and diplomacy in resolving global and regional conflicts but firmly stated that Pakistan’s sovereignty would not be compromised in the fight against terrorism. He also called on international human rights organizations to address violations in Gaza and Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Highlighting the role of parliamentary diplomacy, the Speaker noted his efforts to represent Pakistan positively internationally. Reflecting on the political climate from 2018 to 2021, he criticized the period for political victimization but affirmed his dedication to maintaining parliamentary norms.

He also addressed the concerns of overseas Pakistanis, emphasizing the importance of addressing their issues as they play a crucial role in Pakistan’s economy and international standing.
