Provincial Minister Nasir Shah Highlights the Role of Minorities in Sindh’s Development

Karachi: Provincial Minister of Energy, Planning Syed Nasir Hussain Shah emphasized the significant contributions of minorities to the educational, social, and economic sectors in Sindh. During his address on Minorities Day, Shah praised the efforts of minorities in national development and reaffirmed the PPP’s commitment to safeguarding their rights.

According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Sindh, Shah highlighted the People’s Party’s consistent efforts to ensure that minorities are well-represented in the government’s legislative bodies. He noted that their inclusion in the cabinet and public sector jobs is a priority, underscoring the provincial government’s dedication to fostering an inclusive environment. Shah also referenced the 1973 Constitution, established by Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, which guarantees equal rights to all residents of Pakistan, asserting that the protection of minority rights remains a top priority for the Sindh government.

The Minister pointed out that compared to other provinces, Sindh provides the most protection and recognition to its minority communities, a testament to the province’s progressive policies. The celebration of Minorities Day serves as a reminder of the valuable contributions made by these communities to the fabric of Sindh’s society and its development trajectory.
