Prominent Jammu and Kashmir Literary Figure Rana Fazal Hussain Rajouri Passes Away

Islamabad, Rana Fazal Hussain Rajouri, a revered literary figure from Jammu and Kashmir known for his contributions to the Gujri language and affectionately referred to as “Baba-e-Gujri,” has passed away in Mirpur, Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Rajouri’s death comes after a prolonged illness, marking the end of a notable career dedicated to the promotion and preservation of the Gujri language. His efforts spanned several decades, during which he became a pillar of the linguistic and cultural community in Jammu and Kashmir.

Rajouri’s extensive work with Radio Pakistan’s Tarad Khel Station highlighted his commitment to linguistic diversity and cultural enrichment. Over fifty years, his literary contributions not only advanced the Gujri language but also earned him a place as a cultural luminary in the region.

The funeral prayer for Rajouri was held in Sunlight Park, F-01, Mirpur, AJK, commemorating a life devoted to cultural and linguistic preservation. He leaves behind sons and a significant legacy in the literary world, with his passing creating a notable gap in the cultural fabric of Jammu and Kashmir and beyond.
