Prime Minister Unveils Initiative to Boost Private Sector and Combat Unemployment


Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced that the government is actively implementing a policy aimed at bolstering the private sector to mitigate unemployment across the nation. He shared these insights while presiding over a meeting concerning the Prime Minister Youth Program.



According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Prime Minister highlighted the Uraan Pakistan project, which is expected to generate numerous job opportunities nationwide. He underscored the importance of equipping the youth with professional skills as a means of enhancing employment prospects.



During the meeting, the Prime Minister stressed the significance of organizations like NAVTTC and the Prime Minister Youth Skill Development Program in fostering technical and professional expertise. He pointed out that the progress of Pakistan hinges on the advancement of the IT sector. Furthermore, he instructed the development of a strategy to align with the market demands of friendly countries, aiming to provide employment opportunities for young people abroad. He also called for stringent action against fraudulent companies offering overseas employment.



The Prime Minister was briefed on the imminent launch of the Prime Minister Digital Youth Hub, a platform designed to inform young people about job opportunities and other services. He directed that the platform be made available in all local languages, in addition to English, to ensure broader accessibility.



The meeting covered updates on the Prime Minister Youth Employment Plan and discussed strategies for equipping the workforce with skills necessary for the global market, along with other related initiatives.
