Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Mobilizes NDMA for Monsoon Response in Pakistan

Islamabad: In response to the ongoing monsoon season, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has issued directives to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) to implement comprehensive measures aimed at protecting lives and property across the nation. The Prime Minister’s call emphasizes urgent actions to mitigate the adverse effects of the rains and ensure rapid relief and recovery in affected regions.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during a conversation with NDMA Chairman Lieutenant General Inam Haider Malik, Prime Minister Sharif instructed the Authority to assess the extent of damages and coordinate closely with provincial disaster management bodies, including those in Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. He stressed the importance of restoring highways and roads disrupted by the weather, enhancing health facilities, and ensuring the delivery of essential relief goods to the impacted areas.

The Prime Minister also expressed his condolences for the lives lost due to the recent floods and rains, underscoring the government’s commitment to a swift and effective response to the monsoon challenges.
