ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has commenced a three-day official visit to Saudi Arabia, accompanied by a high-level delegation including Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi. According to Radio Pakistan, the Deputy Prime Minister will join the delegation from Madinah Munawwarah following a brief stopover after his visit to Jordan for the Ministerial Meeting on Jerusalem.

During this visit, Prime Minister Sharif is scheduled to meet with Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. Discussions are set to concentrate on enhancing Pakistan-Saudi Arabia bilateral relations and exchanging views on regional and international developments of mutual interest. Additionally, the Prime Minister will perform Umrah and pay respects at Roza-e-Rasool in Madinah Munawwarah.

The Foreign Office spokesperson highlighted the significance of the visit, noting that it occurs amid heightened tensions in the Gulf. The visit is expected to strengthen bilateral relations, deepen strategic cooperation, and enhance coordination on regional and international issues, while also reinforcing multilateral cooperation.
