Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has embarked on a three-day official visit to Saudi Arabia, accompanied by a high-level delegation including notable figures such as Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi. The visit underscores the ongoing efforts to strengthen diplomatic and strategic relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Deputy Prime Minister will join the delegation from Madinah Munawwarah, having made a brief stopover following his attendance at the Ministerial Meeting on Jerusalem in Jordan. During the visit, Prime Minister Sharif is scheduled to meet with Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to discuss the consolidation of bilateral ties and exchange views on regional and international developments.

Additionally, the Prime Minister is expected to perform Umrah and pay respects at Roza-e-Rasool (Peace Be Upon Him) in Madinah Munawwarah. The Foreign Office spokesperson emphasized that the visit, set against the backdrop of heightened tensions in the Gulf region, holds significance beyond immediate crises and aims to deepen strategic cooperation, enhance coordination on issues of mutual interest, and reinforce multilateral cooperation.
