Islamabad: Eight Islamic countries have issued a strong condemnation of Israel’s actions in the Gaza Strip, highlighting concerns over targeted attacks on healthcare and civilian infrastructure.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Foreign Ministers of Pakistan, Egypt, Türkiye, Indonesia, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates released a joint statement denouncing these violations. They particularly emphasized the targeting of healthcare facilities and the ongoing loss of civilian lives, which include women and children, as breaches of international and humanitarian law.

The ministers reiterated that these continued actions by Israel are in clear violation of its obligations under international law and the Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict. They underscored the necessity of protecting civilians and medical facilities and ensuring the unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid throughout Gaza.

The statement also linked these violations to broader issues, such as settler attacks in the Occupied West Bank and unilateral measures in Occupied Jerusalem, which they argue undermine the two-State solution and infringe on Palestinian rights.

The ministers called upon the international community, and particularly the United Nations Security Council, to take effective measures to ensure Israel fulfills its international obligations and holds accountable those responsible for violations. They also rejected any attempts to annex Palestinian territories or displace Palestinian people.

The joint statement concluded with a call for a political process to implement a two-State solution, envisioning an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
