Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Begins Three-Day Official Visit to Saudi Arabia

Islamabad, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif commenced a three-day visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia today, marking his first foreign trip since taking office. The visit, featuring a high-level delegation including the Ministers for Foreign Affairs, Defence, Economic Affairs, Finance, and Information, aims to strengthen bilateral relations and discuss issues of mutual and global interest.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during his stay, Prime Minister Sharif will perform Umrah, offer prayers at Masjid Nabwi, and hold a significant meeting with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz. The discussions are expected to cover a wide range of topics, including regional and global developments, highlighting the visit’s diplomatic importance.

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar highlighted the visit’s significance, noting it as Prime Minister Sharif’s inaugural foreign journey since his election. The delegation’s decision to travel via commercial flight and personally bear the tour expenses was emphasized, showcasing a commitment to austerity.

Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch remarked on the deep-rooted fraternal relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, underscored by religious and cultural affinities. The mutual respect for the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, and the dedication to enhancing economic and investment ties between the two nations were also acknowledged.

The visit symbolizes a continuation of the strong bilateral relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, with both sides eager to explore avenues for further cooperation and mutual benefit.
