Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Attends World Nomad Games Opening Ceremony in Bishkek

BISHKEK: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif participated in the opening ceremony of the 6th World Nomad Games in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. The event, attended by several international leaders, marks a significant cultural and sporting occasion highlighting traditional sports from Central Asia.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister was received by Kyrgyzstan’s President, Sadyr Nurgozhoevich Japarov, upon his arrival. The ceremony was also attended by heads of state present for the SCO Council of Heads of State Meeting. A contingent of Pakistani athletes, participating in the games, received a standing ovation from the Prime Minister and cheers from the audience.

The World Nomad Games showcase traditional sports from Central Asia, including wrestling, horse racing, traditional animal hunting, archery, and intellectual games. With the games running from Monday until the sixth of next month, they aim to foster cultural ties and cooperation among nations.

During the event, Prime Minister Sharif engaged in informal discussions with several global leaders, including Russian President Vladimir Putin and United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres. Discussions with leaders from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Laos, Togo, and Mongolia focused on mutual interests and bilateral relations.
