New York: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif met with His Highness Prince Rahim Aga Khan V on the sidelines of the 81st United Nations General Assembly session, focusing on peace, stability, and development.

According to Press Information Department, the Prime Minister welcomed Prince Rahim and recalled their previous meeting in Pakistan. He expressed appreciation for Prince Rahim’s commitment to maintaining positive relations with Pakistan, emphasizing the shared objectives of peace and development. The Prime Minister acknowledged the Ismaili community’s contributions to Pakistan’s socioeconomic development and civic engagement.

Prime Minister Sharif highlighted the contributions of Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) institutions to financial inclusion, tourism, cultural preservation, and economic empowerment. He stressed the potential for further collaboration in these areas to promote sustainable development in Pakistan.

Prince Rahim commended the Prime Minister’s efforts for regional peace and reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening the partnership between Pakistan and AKDN. He expressed interest in expanding cooperation in healthcare, education, climate resilience, and socioeconomic development. The Prime Minister invited Prince Rahim to visit Pakistan regularly to deepen ties and cooperation.
