Islamabad: The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), in collaboration with the Fauji Fertilizer Company (FFC), conducted an Industrial Disaster Response Mock Drill and Simulation Exercise at FFC Goth Machhi, Rahim Yar Khan. The exercise aimed to evaluate and enhance preparedness, coordination, and response strategies for potential industrial emergencies.

According to the Press Information Department, the exercise served as a practical platform to test emergency response procedures, inter-agency coordination, and the operational readiness of various departments and stakeholders in handling industrial hazards. It also focused on improving coordination between district, provincial, and industrial authorities to ensure an effective and timely response to emergencies.

The event saw participation from representatives of the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Health Department, Rescue 1122, Civil Defence, Police, SPD/DESTO, Industries Department, Government of Punjab, NDMA, and local industry, along with relevant FFC emergency response teams. The mock drill provided an opportunity to identify operational gaps, enhance communication and coordination mechanisms, and strengthen the capacity of stakeholders to manage industrial emergencies through a coordinated response framework.

NDMA continues to promote a proactive approach to disaster risk management by bolstering preparedness, institutional coordination, and emergency response capabilities nationwide.
