Prime Minister Sharif Highlights Role of Teachers in National Development on World Teachers’ Day

Islamabad: In a message marking World Teachers’ Day, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif expressed his appreciation for teachers in Pakistan and globally, emphasizing their essential role in shaping future generations. He underscored that teachers are crucial to fostering intellectual development and character-building, which are key to national advancement.

According to Press Information Department, Prime Minister Sharif outlined the government’s commitment to enhancing the quality and accessibility of education through initiatives such as the establishment of Danish Schools and the National Institute of Excellence in Teacher Education (NIETE) in Islamabad. These efforts aim to provide professional training and resources to teachers, aligning the education system with global standards and preparing students for emerging challenges.

The Prime Minister also highlighted the importance of curriculum reforms and technical training programs, such as the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) and the Prime Minister’s Youth Skills Development Programme, which seek to equip young people with skills relevant to the evolving job market. He called on teachers to continue their dedication to education, particularly those serving in remote areas, acknowledging their contributions as vital to the nation’s progress.
