Prime Minister Sharif Extends Eid Greetings to Bangladesh’s Chief Advisor

Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif engaged in a telephone conversation with Bangladesh’s Chief Advisor, Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, on Monday, extending warm wishes on the occasion of Eid ul-Fitr.

During the call, Prime Minister Sharif recalled his productive meetings with Dr. Yunus in New York and Cairo last year. He expressed satisfaction with the growing bilateral relations between Pakistan and Bangladesh, especially in areas of trade and travel.

Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening ties between the two nations. Prime Minister Sharif highlighted the anticipated visit of Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister to Dhaka in April, accompanied by a trade delegation, as a step towards enhancing bilateral cooperation.

Sharif emphasized the need to reactivate institutional mechanisms to further invigorate relations at all levels. The exchange of cultural troupes was discussed as a means to foster people-to-people connections. In this context, he invited a Bangladeshi cultural troupe, including the renowned artist Runa Laila, to visit Pakistan.

The Prime Minister also reiterated his invitation for Chief Advisor Dr. Yunus to visit Pakistan at his earliest convenience, aiming to further cement the relationship between the two countries.
