Prime Minister Sharif and Iranian President Discuss Regional Peace Efforts


Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif engaged in a telephone conversation with President Masoud Pezeshkian of Iran, discussing the regional situation and ongoing peace initiatives. The call, lasting approximately 45 minutes, focused on enhancing diplomatic efforts to secure lasting peace in the region.



According to Press Information Department, Prime Minister Sharif expressed gratitude for the recent Iranian delegation’s visit to Islamabad, led by Speaker Mohammed Bagher Ghalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. He highlighted his dialogues with leaders from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Turkiye, emphasizing the importance of consensus in fostering peace. Additionally, Sharif appreciated Iran’s discussions with Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir during his recent Tehran visit.



Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to promoting regional security with the assistance of international partners and extended regards to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei. President Pezeshkian acknowledged Pakistan’s dedication to peace efforts, expressing optimism for stronger bilateral relations.
