Prime Minister Sharif and Iranian President Discuss Regional Peace Efforts in Eid Call


Lahore: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif engaged in a telephone conversation with H.E. Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, on the occasion of Eid ul-Adha. The discussion highlighted bilateral relations and regional peace efforts, underscoring mutual commitments to stability in the region.



According to Press Information Department, during the approximately thirty-minute call, the leaders exchanged Eid greetings and extended best wishes to their respective populations and the broader Muslim community. The Iranian President expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s crucial role in fostering regional peace, acknowledging the involvement of other countries such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Turkiye.



Prime Minister Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s solidarity with Iran over the recent loss of lives in the ongoing crisis. He commended Iranian appreciation for Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir’s peace-building efforts, expressing hope for a dignified resolution that would enhance Iran’s economic prospects and benefit the region.



The leaders affirmed the importance of close coordination, with Prime Minister Sharif emphasizing Pakistan’s enduring support for Iran as a neighboring and brotherly nation.
