Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has emphasized the government’s commitment to enhancing exports by directing authorities to provide a level playing field for local industries. This initiative aims to accelerate industrial growth and bolster the country’s export sector.
At a review meeting in Islamabad focused on the Export Facilitation Scheme, recommendations were discussed to enhance the scheme’s effectiveness and ensure it benefits the export sector. The meeting underscored the scheme’s role in reducing production costs and enabling the country’s products to compete internationally.
Prime Minister Sharif reiterated that increasing exports remains a top priority for the government. He instructed authorities to consult with experts to refine the Export Facilitation Scheme, particularly to ease the import of raw materials and machinery essential for export industries.
Further, he stressed the importance of engaging with industries and business organizations to incorporate their suggestions into the budget, ensuring that the scheme aligns with the needs of the business community.
