Makkah: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, along with a delegation comprising top officials, performed Umrah in the holy city of Makkah Mukarramah. The visit forms part of a three-day official trip to Saudi Arabia, where discussions with the Saudi leadership are also scheduled.

According to Radio Pakistan, the delegation included Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Federal Ministers Khawaja Muhammad Asif and Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi. The members of the delegation prayed for the development and prosperity of their country, the Muslim Ummah, and for peace and stability worldwide and within the region.

Prior to performing Umrah, the delegation had the opportunity to visit the Holy Kaaba. The Prime Minister’s visit to Saudi Arabia is at the invitation of Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. During this visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is expected to engage in talks with the Saudi Crown Prince to explore ways to enhance the enduring fraternal relations and partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. The discussions will also cover exchanges of views on the regional situation.
