Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif’s visit to Peshawar 

Islamabad, January 31, 2023 (PPI-OT):Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif arrived in Peshawar today on an emergency visit. Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir welcomed the Prime Minister. Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Information Minister Maryam Aurangzeb were also present.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was briefed by Corps Commander Peshawar regarding the factors and motivations of terrorism, while the Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa presented a preliminary investigation report on the suicide attack in police lines.

The prime minister was also shown the CCTV footage of the suicide attack in the police lines. The participants chanted Fatiha for those martyred in the police lines attack and expressed sympathy with the affected families and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister said that the terrorists are making a sinister attempt to create an atmosphere of fear and terror by attacking the institutions responsible for the defense of Pakistan, which will be thwarted by the strength of the unity of the state and the people.

Pakistan has made great sacrifices against terrorism, we will not let the sacrifices of martyrs go in vain. The Prime Minister said that the capacity and efficiency of the anti-terrorist institutions, the police will be increased, and the implementation of the National Action Plan will be ensured with full force and comprehensiveness.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif visited Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar, visited the injured in the Police Lines blast and expressed solidarity with them. On this occasion, the Prime Minister said that those who shed the blood of worshipers in the house of Allah Ta’ala cannot be Muslims.

Those who commit these crimes will not be able to escape from the hand of Allah Almighty. The Prime Minister also directed to provide the best medical facilities to the injured. The prime minister further said that attacking mosques and innocent civilians during prayers in the name of Islam is the worst act.

The people of Pakistan have recognized the true faces of the baseless ideology of the extremists and the elements who misinterpret the religion. Such cowardly attacks cannot weaken our national resolve against terrorism. The evil elements involved in this attack on innocent citizens and their facilitators will be brought to justice.
