Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has extended his congratulations to the people of Gilgit-Baltistan for conducting elections that were described as transparent, peaceful, and politically vibrant.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister acknowledged the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) for emerging as the majority party in the region’s elections and congratulated its leadership on their success. He also expressed his commendations to the successful candidates from the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), lauding their strong performance and hard work during the electoral process. Furthermore, Sharif extended his felicitations to all other successful candidates in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Prime Minister Sharif highlighted the commendable participation of the people of Gilgit-Baltistan in political activities, emphasizing that such peaceful and transparent elections are emblematic of democratic principles. He also praised the Election Commission for its role in ensuring free, fair, and impartial elections, and acknowledged the efforts of the police and law enforcement agencies in maintaining peace throughout the electoral process.
