Deputy Prime Minister Emphasizes Need for Sustainable Automotive Ecosystem


ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has highlighted the necessity of fostering a competitive and sustainable automotive ecosystem aimed at bolstering economic growth and enhancing environmental sustainability through an advanced automotive sector.



According to Radio Pakistan, Dar led a high-level meeting in Islamabad to assess the Auto and Auto Parts Policy, focusing on expediting Pakistan’s transition to electric vehicles. The meeting included discussions on promoting electric vehicle adoption, reinforcing domestic manufacturing, and facilitating industry growth via government policies, with the aim of creating new employment opportunities, boosting exports, and aiding Pakistan’s climate change mitigation efforts.



A subcommittee was formed to review these initiatives through consultations with stakeholders and finalize the draft policy.
