ISLAMABAD: In a significant diplomatic breakthrough, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif announced that a peace deal has been reached between the United States and Iran, effectively ending military operations on all fronts, including Lebanon.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister shared the development on the social media platform X, expressing satisfaction with the outcome of the intensive talks that led to the agreement. The official signing ceremony is scheduled for Friday in Switzerland.
The Prime Minister extended his gratitude to the United States and Iran for their dedication to resolving the conflict through diplomatic means. He also expressed appreciation for the mediation efforts by Qatar and acknowledged the contributions of Saudi Arabia and Türkiye in facilitating the agreement.
Shehbaz Sharif noted that mediators will oversee a series of preparatory meetings this week, which will set the stage for technical discussions and the upcoming signing ceremony.
