Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed his condolences following a tragic boat capsizing incident off the Harawa coast near Sirte City, Eastern Libya, which resulted in at least eleven fatalities, including four Pakistani nationals.
In a statement shared on his social media platform, X, Prime Minister Sharif emphasized that both the Pakistani mission and the foreign office are actively collaborating with local authorities in Libya to recover the bodies of the deceased individuals.
Prime Minister Sharif also underscored the government’s commitment to taking stringent measures against those who exploit and lure citizens into perilous situations such as this. He assured that efforts will intensify to prevent future occurrences, aiming to spare families the anguish of losing loved ones in similar accidents.
The Prime Minister’s remarks reflect a broader governmental initiative to address and dismantle networks that exploit vulnerable individuals, promising decisive action against such practices.
