Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari has conveyed his congratulations to the President of the Swiss Confederation, Guy Parmelin, the Federal Council, and the people of Switzerland on their National Day.

According to Press Information Department, President Zardari emphasized the strong and cordial relations between Pakistan and Switzerland, highlighting their foundation on mutual trust, shared values, and constructive cooperation. He noted the importance Pakistan places on its multifaceted relationship with Switzerland, particularly in areas such as trade, investment, technology, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, mountain tourism, climate resilience, and textiles.

President Zardari remarked on the commitment both nations share towards international peace and their productive engagement in various multilateral forums. He acknowledged the significant role of Switzerland in promoting global peace, citing its hosting of numerous important global bodies, including the United Nations, where Pakistan has maintained a permanent mission in Geneva for decades.

Expressing optimism for the future, President Zardari conveyed confidence that the friendship and collaboration between Pakistan and Switzerland will continue to grow and deepen, benefiting the people of both countries.
