President Zardari Emphasizes Merit and Transparency in Recruitment


Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari has highlighted the critical need for merit, transparency, and professionalism in public service recruitment processes.



According to Press Information Department, President Zardari made these remarks while receiving the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) Annual Report 2024 from its Chairman, Lt. Gen. (Retd) Akhtar Nawaz Satti, at Aiwan-e-Sadr. The President underscored the importance of the FPSC’s role in promoting good governance by ensuring that competent and deserving individuals are chosen for professional and technical positions in public service.



President Zardari also commended the FPSC for its reforms aimed at enhancing internal systems and transitioning toward a more efficient, paperless recruitment process. He encouraged the Commission to maintain its commitment to merit and transparency, thereby preserving the public trust it has garnered over time.



During the meeting, it was disclosed that in 2024, the FPSC recommended 1,816 candidates for appointment to various Ministries and Divisions through General Recruitment. The Commission advertised 1,722 vacancies, which attracted 274,566 fresh applications. Senator Saleem Mandviwalla was also present at the meeting.
