Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari emphasized the importance of solidarity and cooperation among Muslim countries to address the challenges facing the Muslim Ummah. This call for unity came during a meeting with Dr. Salah bin Mohammad M Albdeer, the Imam of Masjid Al-Nabvi, at Aiwan-e-Sadr on Thursday.
According to Press Information Department, President Zardari expressed his views on the significance of strengthening the ties between Pakistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), which he described as rooted in shared faith, history, and brotherhood. He was pleased with the growing relationship between the two nations and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing these bilateral ties further.
During the discussions, President Zardari encouraged fostering cultural and people-to-people connections to bring the two nations closer. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for Saudi Arabia, highlighting the country as a steadfast friend.
The Imam of Masjid Al-Nabvi reciprocated the sentiment, acknowledging the high regard Saudi Arabia has for its relationship with Pakistan and praised the Pakistani community’s contributions to Saudi development. He also noted the ongoing reforms led by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al-Saud, which are expected to drive further development and prosperity in KSA.
President Zardari lauded Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s courageous and visionary leadership, expressing optimism that the Imam’s visit would bolster the already strong ties between the two countries. The Imam concluded the meeting with prayers for the peace and prosperity of Pakistan.
