Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif have expressed their condolences for the loss of lives and extensive damage caused by flash floods and mudslides in northern Nepal near the Tibet border. The natural disaster has resulted in significant devastation, prompting messages of solidarity from leaders in Pakistan.

According to Radio Pakistan, President Zardari conveyed Pakistan’s sympathies to the families affected by the tragedy and expressed solidarity with the people and government of Nepal in a message shared on X. Prime Minister Sharif, in a separate message on X, also expressed his deep sadness over the loss of lives and destruction in Nepal’s Rasuwa District and other impacted areas.

In addition, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar voiced deep sadness over the flash floods and landslides in both China and Nepal. In a post on his X handle, he stated that Pakistan stands in solidarity with the Chinese and Nepali communities during this challenging time and offers support and assistance following the tragedy. Dar extended his condolences to the bereaved families and commended the rescue teams for their tireless efforts under challenging conditions.
