ISLAMABAD: A new four-hundred-bed hospital, Polyclinic-II, is set to begin operations by March 23 next year, Minister for National Health Services Mustafa Kamal announced. The development follows directives from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to enhance healthcare facilities.
According to Radio Pakistan, Kamal addressed the media in Islamabad, outlining that the hospital will be constructed at a cost of sixteen billion rupees. The facility aims to incorporate modern healthcare technologies, with most equipment and medical devices already procured. Kamal added that bidding has commenced for the construction of King Salman Hospital, with the contract expected to be finalized within fifteen days. The project’s first phase is anticipated to be completed in two years.
Kamal also responded to inquiries about the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMs) fire investigation, noting that initial recommendations from an inquiry committee have been implemented. He assured the public that the second report’s recommendations will also be followed thoroughly.
