Islamabad, Romina Khurshid Alam, the Prime Minister’s Coordinator on Climate Change and Environmental Coordination, has called for increased environmental activism to tackle the pressing climate crisis. This call to action was made during a meeting with the country representative of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), Mr. Mahmood Akhtar Cheema.
According to Press Information Department, the meeting focused on collaborative efforts between the PM’s office and the IUCN, particularly in the areas of biodiversity and climate change programs. Alam emphasized the importance of expanding the Green Pakistan Program and addressing the challenge of forest fires. The IUCN country representative also presented a report on scaling up the Green Pakistan Program, highlighting the urgent need for concerted efforts in environmental conservation.
