ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed relevant authorities to expedite progress on ongoing projects and initiatives aimed at the welfare of overseas Pakistanis. This directive was given during a meeting in Islamabad with Syed Qamar Raza, Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation, and Mohammed Afzaal Bhatti, the Managing Director.
According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting focused on initiatives launched by the Foundation to address the issues faced by overseas Pakistanis. Prime Minister Sharif underscored the importance of overseas Pakistanis, highlighting their significant role in contributing to the country’s foreign exchange reserves through remittances.
During the discussions, the Prime Minister was briefed on plans to enhance welfare and facilities for Pakistanis residing abroad. He expressed satisfaction with the steps taken by the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation and instructed the formulation and presentation of a comprehensive plan for further improvements.
The Chairman and Managing Director of the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation expressed their appreciation for the Prime Minister’s efforts towards global peace, acknowledging his commitment to the welfare of Pakistanis abroad.
