PM Shehbaz Sharif Urges Enhanced Preparations for Upcoming Monsoon Season


ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has called for proactive measures in preparation for the upcoming monsoon season, emphasizing the importance of a robust early warning system and continuous monitoring of vulnerable areas.



According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister held discussions with the Minister for Climate Change, Dr. Musadik Masood Malik, in Islamabad. During the meeting, the focus was on evaluating the readiness for the anticipated monsoon season. The Prime Minister stressed the need for an active early warning system to ensure the safety of regions prone to severe weather conditions.



Additionally, the Prime Minister reviewed updates regarding the installation and performance of early warning systems designed to detect flash floods and Glacial Lake Outburst Floods (GLOF) in mountainous regions. This initiative aims to mitigate the risks associated with sudden and severe flooding events in these areas.
