Lucerne: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with Ignazio Cassis, the Vice President and Foreign Minister of Switzerland, to discuss enhancing cooperation in several key sectors. The meeting took place alongside the technical-level talks between the United States and Iran in Burgenstock, Switzerland.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Swiss Foreign Minister praised Pakistan’s mediation efforts that facilitated the signing of the Islamabad MoU between Iran and the United States. Cassis expressed Switzerland’s readiness to support the follow-up process of the agreement. Prime Minister Sharif thanked Switzerland for its continued investment in Pakistan and expressed hope for increased Swiss business ventures in the country. He also offered the expertise of Pakistani IT and cybersecurity professionals to meet Switzerland’s growing needs in these fields.
During the discussions, both leaders explored opportunities for collaboration in pharmaceuticals, tourism, and climate change and disaster risk reduction. Prime Minister Sharif extended an invitation to Cassis to visit Pakistan, aiming to further strengthen bilateral ties.
