Lucerne: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that Iran and the United States are sincerely committed to achieving peace in the Middle East. The comments were made during an informal interaction with journalists in Lucerne, Switzerland, where U.S.-Iran technical-level talks were taking place.
According to Radio Pakistan, Prime Minister Sharif highlighted the Iranian leadership’s dignified handling of regional tensions, emphasizing their genuine intent to foster peace. Addressing the role of the United States, Sharif expressed confidence in President Donald Trump’s dedication to peace, citing his intervention in last year’s India-Pakistan conflict as a significant example of his commitment.
Sharif also commented on U.S. Vice President JD Vance’s positive remarks about Pakistan, describing the renewed friendship between the two nations as a promising development. He indicated that this relationship would lead to closer cooperation in various sectors. The Prime Minister expressed gratitude to President Trump for his support in promoting economic cooperation and efforts to combat terrorism.
