Islamabad, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif of Pakistan has engaged in a diplomatic exchange with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, focusing on fostering stronger ties between the two nations. This conversation, framed around Eid-ul-Fitr greetings, highlighted mutual interests in economic collaboration and shared geopolitical concerns.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, PM Sharif extended his greetings to Malaysia on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr and expressed his intentions to deepen the relationship between the two countries. Recalling Anwar Ibrahim’s earlier communication, Sharif emphasized the cultural and economic bonds linking Pakistan and Malaysia, including literary exchanges like the translation of Allama Iqbal’s works into Malaysian.
In their conversation, Sharif reiterated his invitation to Ibrahim for an official visit to Pakistan, proposing it as an opportunity to launch the translated works of Iqbal. They discussed enhancing bilateral trade, with specific plans for trade delegations to visit each other’s countries, aiming to boost areas like meat export from Pakistan to Malaysia.
Furthermore, the leaders shared views on international issues, particularly the situation in Palestine, appreciating Malaysia’s stance against Israel’s policies in Gaza and supporting peace initiatives. They also touched upon the solidarity with the people of Jammu and Kashmir, underlining the political consonance between Pakistan and Malaysia.
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim reciprocated the sentiments, anticipating his visit to Pakistan and expressing eagerness to strengthen bilateral relations in various sectors of mutual interest.
