Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has conveyed his sorrow over the passing of Dr. Pervez Butt, a respected nuclear scientist and former Chairman of the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission. Dr. Butt’s work was instrumental in fortifying Pakistan’s defense capabilities and advancing its nuclear science and technology sectors.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister released a statement lauding Dr. Butt’s significant contributions, emphasizing his critical role in establishing a robust foundation for Pakistan’s nuclear program and fostering scientific independence. The statement further noted that Dr. Butt’s dedicated service to the nation will be remembered with esteem.
In his message, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also offered prayers for Dr. Butt’s soul and expressed wishes for his family’s strength during this profound loss.
